Fareham Petanque Club Celebrates 40 Years!

Fareham PC celebrated 40 years this year with a party at their club house in Fareham NW Community Centre. More than 60 people including some founder members attended, and played a fun petanque match. 3 players playing doubles, so that our veterans could take a breather at any time. Many of them were over 80 years old. But still ready for a game. We received a visit from our Mayor Cllr Pal Hayer, who cut the birthday cake for us and stayed to watched the final games in the afternoon.

The winners were:

Gold: Martin Ware and Annick Godfrey.Runners up: Mark Robertshaw, June Minnet and Dick Francis.
Silver: Alan and Val Samuel. Runners up: Paul Hayward and Doug Gladding and Jed Stone
Bronze: Gerry Mac, Eddy Maskell-White, and Sara Tiller.Runners up: Jackie Churcher, Maralyn and Avril Furzer.
Special prize for overseas player Annick Godfrey.
