Fareham Pétanque Club welcomed 20 enthusiastic players for the 2025 edition of “Jack’s Eye Sharpener”, a special competition held in memory of former club Secretary Jack and his love of a “little something” to help his play!
This year’s format was a Doubles Melee, with teams re-drawn after each round. Players were well fuelled by the wonderful Bacon Rolls served before the start. Despite showery, changeable weather (and a few mad dashes for cover during the heaviest downpours), spirits stayed high across all four timed 50-minute games.
🎉 Congratulations to Our Top Players

A big thank you to everyone who took part, and especially those who prepared hot food, drinks and provided cakes. We all helped honour Jack’s legacy with good-natured play and community spirit. See you on the terrain again soon!
